About Us

Being in this group, posting comments, the support and cheers from all the talented trainers, has given me a confidence boost that I needed.

Who We Are

CATCH Community is an online group made up of people who love learning about dogs in an inclusive, fun, friendly and supportive environment.

We are students of canine behavior, expert professionals and people who simply enjoy sharing life with dogs.

Please be sure to read our Guiding Principles and Community Rules here. These are quick reads and invaluable to maintaining a great space for all of us.

Our Guiding Principles
  1. Be Passionate – Love what you do, let it show.
  2. Be Friendly and Supportive – Give each other confidence. Share positive feedback and kind words. Condescending comments or “gotcha” will have no place here.
  3. Challenge Yourself to Learn and Grow – Our mission is building knowledge and skills together.
  4. Participate – Share your ideas and experiences, from writing to video. Never be afraid to give a “wrong” answer; we only learn by trying new concepts and practicing new skills.
  5. Be Open-Minded – Seek first to understand, then to be understood. Be empathic and non-judgmental.
  6. Be Caring – Help dogs, help people. Use a LIMA approach in training and behavior solutions.
  7. Get Hands-On with Dogs – Learning by doing is the most powerful way to develop your skills
Community Rules

These rules are in place to create the best possible experience for all members of our community. We want everyone to have an enjoyable and safe experience while working on their learning goals.

  • Follow Our Guiding Principles!
  • Be Respectful and Professional. It’s okay to discuss and debate, but be thoughtful and caring in the way you communicate. Do not use rude, offensive or hurtful language of any kind. If you experience inappropriate or hurtful dialogues, notify an administrator.
  • Keep All Group Content Private. In order to benefit from the power of sharing in our community, we must all trust each other to keep community content private. Respect the work and privacy of others. Do not screenshot, copy, download, or share any content from our members and use it or post it anywhere else. Exceptions include graphics and handouts that include the Digging Dogs logo, where we explicitly write that these are meant for you to share.
  • Don’t Market Your Biz. We are enthusiastic about your success, but this is not the place to promote your business or product. Do not post any kind of advertising, marketing, promotion, or solicitation referencing any other business or community.
  • CATCH Coursework and Student Support are Separate from this Community. If you are a student in a program with our partner school, CATCH Canine Trainers Academy, always reach out to your Program Director or the CATCH Student Support Team with questions or support needs related to CATCH course content or processes. This community is completely separate from CATCH coursework and course outcomes.
  • Stay on Topic. In order to foster great learning discussions, post about the topics being presented by the community leaders and build on them. Keep the flow going within the specific channel that you’re on and don’t shift to outside topics. For example, this community is definitely not the place to discuss things you might see in the news outside of the dog-world. We are focused on learning about all-things-dog!

Again, these rules are in place to help create a great experience for all of us. We have enjoyed the fantastic culture and benefits of our learning communities for years. We expect infractions to
be rare. That said, we are dedicated to maintaining our culture.

Please know that administrators are serious about all of the above. We reserve the right to delete content and remove a user from the community without warning.
